The United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign, whose aim is for young girls around the world to become better positioned as leaders of their generation, was virtually unknown in the UK, despite having high profile ambassadors and supporters such as Michelle Obama and Beyonce. Girl Up approached Common Room to help raise their profile outside of the US and to increase financial support. In the limited time the Girl Up Directors were in the UK, Common Room arranged a succession of meetings, leading to fruitful partnerships, increased funding and a successful April 2014 launch, positioning Girl Up as a premier charitable organization targeting global youth in the UK.
